The Community Engagement Specialist organizes fundraising events, identifies and creates opportunities for donors, and manages volunteer engagement.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Identifying new corporate partners, arranging meetings, and making monetary and in-kind asks
  • Stewarding donors by sharing a client story
  • Overseeing logistics for a donor party, including creating invitations, managing RSVPs, and creating menus
  • Managing volunteers through emails, phone calls, or meetings
  • Working with other agency departments to manage our statewide holiday gift drive
  • Being onsite at our Beach Music concert series managing vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests
  • Creating seating charts for statewide fundraising luncheons and dinners
  • Attending a community function representing CHS

You like helping people.  You may not know the answer, but you will find it.  You are a good listener.  You remember names. 

You pay attention to details.  You are focused and organized.  While sitting at a computer is not at the top of your list, you can capture data and do it well.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience and proven track record in fundraising or sales
  • Event management experience
  • Volunteer management experience
  • Driver's license, insurance, and transportation
  • A commitment to and belief in families
