The Director of Analytics and Quality Improvement will lead a newly formed team which is responsible for advancing excellence and innovation across all areas of work at Children's Home Society of North Carolina through a meaningful use of data. 

Purpose of the Analytics and Quality Improvement Team

  • This team is responsible for identifying the indicators of success, for all program and administrative support areas, establishing a process for collecting data for these indicators, and creating a method for timely review of progress towards indicators.
  • This team is responsible for supporting all CHS staff in successful collection, review, and interpretation of data. Collaboration with team leads will establish clear systems of data collection and use, including clarifying responsibility and accountability.  This will require supporting staff with the creation of tools focused on data quality.  As this team promotes the use of data across CHS, it will need to train staff to equip them for success. 
  • This team is responsible for advancing a culture of data across CHS. This includes promoting individual responsibility for data collection, a clear understanding of the meaning of reports, and regular inclusion of data in decision-making. 
  • This team is responsible for ensuring all external program reporting, for example to funders, is meaningful, correct, and accessible to staff submitting reports. It will proactively establish a process for data collection, regular review for accuracy, and final reporting.
  • This team is responsible for working collaboratively with team leads on projects examining process improvement. As staff across CHS work to identify efficiencies and improve quality, it will facilitate the process of examination of current work and identify areas for clarity, consistency, or improved process. 
  • This team will serve as the research team for CHS evaluation projects. For some work, the team will lead evaluation projects exploring the impact of CHS work.  For other work, it will serve as the CHS point of contact working with an external evaluation partner.
  • Annually, the Analytics and Quality Improvement Director will establish a learning agenda in collaboration with the VP of Programs and Quality Improvement and Executive Leadership Team. This Learning Agenda will guide work throughout the year and will identify key questions related to program impact.  At the end of the year, a report on the results of the Learning Agenda will be shared with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.

Accountability

The success of the Analytics and Quality Improvement Team will be assessed by:

  • The data needed for all external reporting for all program reports is accurate, accessible, and understandable.
  • The advancement of an organizational culture that embraces personal accountability for data accuracy and completeness at all levels of the organization. This will be seen by continual improvement in data quality across CHS.
  • Strong evaluation results for all external evaluations with positive review by the external evaluation partners, funders, and other stakeholders in the evaluation process.
  • Completion of the annual Learning Agenda for CHS.
